In Colorado's 8th, the 2024 race was decided by a few thousand votes in a district where roughly 31 percent of the citizen voting-age population is Latino. Modest improvements in registration, turnout and persuasion can change individual races, and potentially control of the House. The constraint is not demographics. It is investment and engagement.

Background

A retired Army National Guard brigadier general and Iraq War veteran who flew helicopters, co-founded a mechanical contracting firm and served in the Pennsylvania House before his election to Congress. He sits on the Transportation and Infrastructure, Foreign Affairs and Oversight committees and is a former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus. He won his 2024 race by about 5,100 votes.

Background

A former WGAL news anchor who spent decades on central Pennsylvania television. A registered Republican until 2023, she came within 1.3 points of winning this seat in 2024. She campaigns on lowering costs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, health care and fighting corruption in Washington.
